Ball Lightning

My holidays are drawing to a close, which brings some degree of sadness, but it was a very good break from work. I had opportunity to visit with family and many friends, and made a very momentous step in my life. On December 28, 2007, I proposed to my girlfriend Christine, and we're both very happy.

I tried very hard to surprise her, but she was kind of expecting it. I guess the tip-off was when I said, "we should go on a date on December 28", because apparently I never ask to go on a date. Christine went so far as to set-up a code word with her best friend Laura, to be used in the event of proposal. I proposed on top of Douglas Hill, with a lovely view of the city, and then we had to go back to Christine's place so she could tell Laura. The first words out of her mouth were "Ball Lightning", and then they chattered happily together for a few minutes. For those interested, the code word references an episode of Christine's favourite television show, Titus.

Below are a few pictures we took right after getting engaged, including two of the ring.

We've set our wedding date as September 13, 2008, and it will most likely be in Hudson Bay, SK. 252 days of freedom and counting. :P

Congratulations!

Ah yes, Hudson Bay. The last time (only time) I've been through there was on bicycle (4 day bike trip through Porcupine Hills)... Is that Christine's hometown?
