Now you're one year older....
Happy Birthday to me!
Today shall be a good day, including Buffalo Days festivities with the lovely Christine and my sister, Jen. We may go see the Trews tonight, which would be fun.
Yesterday was full of wedding stuff, including purchasing the marriage license, my wedding band and pinatas! I don't know how to put the little accent above the 'a' in pinata.
Lately life has been busy, between putting in my application for the Canadian Space Agency's Astronaut Recruitment Campaign, working on my masters (so close, but so very far...), getting ready for the wedding, in addition to the usual things, such as work and running.
I am now enjoying two weeks of vacation in Regina. My plans while here include finalizing wedding preparations, writing my masters report (as much as I can), running with Ted's group here (and possibly racing in a 15 km road race) and, of course, visiting with fiancee, family and friends. I also plan to go to Medicine Hat for a day this up coming weekend to watch my dad drag race.
Yesterday I bought the first season of Meerkat Manor, which I thought was pretty neat. I like meerkats.
On Monday I got to go for a picnic with crazy fun people, like Miss Maryanne, her crazy husband Chris, and the newlyweds Trouble and Derek. We played frisbee, including instruction by Derek in the wrist-flick/back-hand style of frisbee throwing (thanks Derek!) and had cheesecake as an early birthday celebration. Good times!
I am also starting day five of my vacation. I have managed to be awake before six every day, and usually up and active before seven. Sunday I was out for a 20 km run starting around 6:30 a.m. I being to understand why people think I'm a little nuts sometimes.
Oh, the other exciting thing is that my good friend Bryan has organized my bachelor party for August 9th, which will involve paintball in the afternoon followed by a nice supper in the evening.
All in all, life is pretty good. I hope to see some of you in the near future.
Uncle Traveling Matt out.
